The Lights on Temple Square

Tonight we went to Salt Lake after our family dinner to enjoy the sights on temple square. It seems like we were not the only ones to have this idea tonight, there were hundreds of people. There were chorale groups preforming and there were two nativities to look at. It was extremely beautiful and extremely cold out side.

Here is the nativity that is on the lawn between the North Visitors Center and the Tabernacle. It takes up the full lawn and in the center is the stable with Mary, Joseph and the Baby Jesus. To the right are the shepherds with their flocks and to the left are the three wisemen with their camels. Over the loud speaker they read from Luke the account of the Saviors birth.

They got a lot more snow in Salt Lake so the ground was totally covered in snow.

Here we all are, bundled up and posing for a picture. Bob offered to take a picture of a couple who wanted a picture in the same spot and they reciprocated by taking our picture.


This is me freezing by the fountain, which was actually fountaining, I mean running. Devon actually felt the water to see if it was warmer and then he tasted it to see if it was salty. We were trying to find out how it could still be running when it was sooo cold.
Here is the last nativity that we saw. This is on the reflecting pool in front of the temple. There are little gold glass luminary balls floating all around the surface of the pool. It is just really a gorgeous sight to see. I am so glad that we went. This may become a new family tradition while we live here.

Well it's late and I got to go off to bed. I'm getting up severely early to take Bob to the airport, he will be in Sunnyvale all next week on business. I just knew I couldn't wait until tomorrow to tell all of you about our wonderful night.
