Happy Birthday Mom!

I was so overwhelmed with school yesterday I totally forgot to blog a birthday message! This is my wonderful mom, she really puts up with a lot, her birthday was yesterday.

Happy Birthday, you really are the best mom in the world for me. I hope that you had a great day. I am so excited for June when you get to come for a visit. I love you bunches!

P.S. I do have a card for you, I just keep forgetting to buy the stamps :)

Catching Up Again!

I really need to get back on track, it seems like my week just got away from me. Here is what we have been doing in reverse order. Last night we had family dinner, we had hoped that our new grill replacement part would be here and we would have steaks but that didn't happen. Plan B was dutch oven dinners. We made a delicious pineapple upside-down cake. This tasted great with vanilla ice cream.

Here is the main dish BBQ chicken. It was a very easy recipe, 6 strips of bacon on the bottom then add the chicken pieces. We combined cream of celery, cream of mushroom, cream of chicken soups (one can each) and a bottle of BBQ sauce. Pour the mixture over the meat and 45 minutes later, we had a Delicious dinner. We served it over rice.

Here is Bob even though he is sick and not feeling well at all out heating the charcoal and taking care of the ovens.

There is an old dog run in the back yard with a concrete slab we did our cooking right on the concrete. This is the way that I saw the camp dads do it at girls camp.

Meet Rudy the Rectangle. Ashton calls him his guy. We were out buying yarn at Michael's killer yarn sale. I think I spent most of my daycare money there. Ashton saw this free pattern and wanted me to make a guy for him. He woke up from his nap and said "did you make my guy?" I told him that it takes a little longer than two hours to make. That was Tuesday, he was very happy on Friday when I gave him his guy. He would sit by me and say "I like my guy." Then he would smash him on my face and tell me his guy was giving me a kiss.

My last big news is from Tuesday too. I am now enrolled with the University of Phoenix and will be taking courses so that I can get a degree in elementary education. It's a big step for me but its what I really want to do. I am sure that you will be hearing more about my progress here.

Spring Break?!?

Last night we got buried under a foot of snow here in Orem. I noticed that it had started snowing late last night before I went to bed.

I didn't really think anything of it, I mean it seemed to be coming down quite heavily but I thought that it would taper off.

Well it is not snowing currently and I see blue clouds (patches of blue sky).

I need to take Heather to her moms, I think that I am going to have to dig out the van.

This was the only part of the mountain that was visible.

Heather came home from am movie party last night and told her dad that she would get up early to help shovel things so that hw could get off to work.

It really is a lot of snow. I hear Heather coming in upstairs, she must have dug out enough that her dad could get out. She just told me that she shook some of the snow off of the branches of the ornamental cherry tree. She had snow on the top of her head, she said she got the branches that she could reach. They were predicting snow all day today, hopefully we got it all last night. It would be nice to see the sun for a while before the next system comes in.

Nice Weather We're Having!

This is the snow that we have accumulated today! It's pretty much been snowing since 9am here. At first it didn't stick on the pavement and now it is. Heather might have to go and shovel.

That's if I can pull her away from the book that she is reading. I am so proud of her. We got her Sam for Easter and when we were at the library she found Adam's Story and Charly. She is all the way through Sam and Adam's Story and started on Charly. Way to go Heather!

Scrapbook pages!

I know that I am a little behind on these ones (almost a year) better late than never. Here are the pages that I made for Devon's Senior Prom.

You probably can't see it very well in this video clip but we are having a lot of snow. It's April, isn't it? Heather and I just went upstairs and if my batteries in the camera were charges I would have new pictures of even thicker snow falling down. Wow!
